1. It won't matter if "they've got the goods".
2. You have to have control of Congress to impeach a president. We discovered this during the Clinton impeachment.
3. The president's supporters have to be on the defensive for impeachment to work. Democrats & the Media [but I repeat myself] were embarrassed by Big Bill's behavior, and also had to squelch his clear felonies. So - greatly on the defensive.
President Trump's supporters, on the other hand, are mad as hell, and we're also not going to listen to any Uniparty #FakeRepublicans as "voices of reason" in a phony DC "impeachment" Kabuki dance.
We'll just jump straight to the conclusion that "voting no longer matters".
So, we'll let the Russians vote for us.
