Yep.

In fact, “chasing clicks” is seriously exacerbating an already bad problem.

For instance, NBC news maintains a huge updating board at their HQ that shows which stories are receiving the most attention (clicks) on the internet.

Of course, the most popular articles at NBC are rabidly anti-Trump. So now an already ideologically dishonest “news” organization has a substantial financial interest to become even more dishonest. It becomes self-perpetuating.

Bad stuff ahead people. Truth and honesty in the media, an absolute per-requisite for intelligent self-government, have no chance in this environment.
