Just saw an article but can’t find it two minutes later that said though this hurt Ryan, don’t expect a coup. I wonder sometimes if we can ever really win.
If there are enough Representative who demand a Speaker that will stand up *more* to Trump, then there will be a coup.
I can’t see that as opposing Trump would crush any RINOs re-election by depriving him of 15% or so of his support. Maybe even get him successfully primaried.
The few who plan on moving to K-street anyway would be less than even the number of the Libery Caucus.
No HFC member could win.
One of the other conservatives may be a long shot but none have ever been after the job and I have to assume they have good reasons. A conservative is not a good fit to lead this RINO-heavy caucus anyway.
Trump ran his campaign against the GOPe. He has no friends there, only those he can buy with our money.
Best Trump can get out of the House is for them to allow some more early input from the conservatives.
Ryan can do that as well, or better, as anyone else. If he does that on the tax bill he, we, and Trump will see good things.
