I was a little surprised by Trump’s ultimatum, too. Though, in thinking about it, I remember him saying during the campaign that sometimes during negotiations, one just needs to walk away from the table. I think that’s what he’s doing now after giving his all. It’s always been in the hands of Congress and I blame Ryan for his stupid “A Better Way” - like Dobbs has said, I’m tired of hearing about it. Seems Ryan had his plan and didn’t invite the HFC or others to provide input at the beginning (which should have started Nov 9th). I’m glad he’s feeling pressure now - he brought it upon himself.

Sec’y Price was just on F&F and said at least a few times that the President promised the voters repeal & replace. I wish he would quit saying the President promised voters - - AFAIK ALL (or at least most of) the Pubbies promised their voters.

I don’t think Ryan’s bill will survive the Senate intact, which is a good thing. It will be amended and go to conference.

It was so disingenuous of Ryan to say “This is the bill we ran on last year as Republicans!” which is clearly a lie, as there was NO bill presented to ANYONE for the election last fall as the antidote to O-care.

He pulled it out of his K-Street backers rear ends, and try to bluff Trump to get it passed. I can just picture that jug-eared moron Ryan saying to his backers that he has Trump hook, line and sinker and the fix is in.

As of this moment, Ryan’s whole political future hinges on this vote.

Trump wins either way. And Trump will use the Freedom Caucus to initiate another bill to gut O-care in due time, if the Ryan bill fails to pass.

But Trump will not waste any more time on it now, as the tax reform has to be in place for the economy to recover. and he will NOT let Ryan screw that up.

The only thing that steams me is that the feckless GOP gives that dementia-laden witch Pelosi something to crow about yet again.

Through Trump, we saved the GOP last year.

For the very last time.

Trump said that in the Art of the Deal too. You have to know when to just walk away. And then work on other deals.

I was surprised he was willing to do this already, but he knows more than I do.

Hubby read that the FC wanted pre-existing conditions and 26 year old coverage eliminated from the bill.
