IMO, this is legally actionable for both criminal and civil charges for damage.

OMG....yes. There are a slew of crimes committed here.

Firstly---putting an unmailed document in a residential or business mailbox is a federal crime. You can't just go up to a mailbox and put in something that was not mailed.

Secondly---this was "stolen" US govt property.

Thirdly----reportedly, Maddow has only two pages.....that could mean the crime of defacement of US govt property b/c the pages had to be ripped off of the rest of the returns.

Fourthly-----breach of confidentiality.

I heard on Fox that the copy she had on TV last night said “Client Copy” in the bottom. So maybe not released by IRS but a Tax prep guy? Wasn’t that the source for the NY State return that got out? Was it the same year too?

I highly doubt they are stapled. His returns are so yuge, they fill up three 10-ream copy paper cartons.
