That’s why the the Houston Democrat on Friday filed House Bill 4260, which would fine men $100 for masturbating and create a required booklet for men with medical information related to the benefits and concerns of a man seeking a vasectomy, a Viagra prescription or a colonoscopy. The bill would also let doctors invoke their "personal, moralistic, or religious beliefs" in refusing to perform an elective vasectomy or prescribe Viagra, among other proposed requirements in the bill.

If I read the article correctly, the penalty is for the loss of sperm by masturbation and thereby not creating a life. Based on that interpretation, shouldn’t women be fined for menstruating?

Design the pamphlet so it can be held in one hand (the other hand is busy).

This is not a serious proposal, just some feminist Democrat being snarky by submitting a law which she (incorrectly) sees as the equivalent to restrictions on abortion funding, or requirements for things like informed consent before having an abortion, or - horror of horrors - requiring affluent women pay for their own contraceptives.

[[Can we just cease having law makers now?]]

“There are at least 5,000 federal criminal laws, with 10,000-300,000 regulations that can be enforced criminally.

from 2000 through 2007, Congress enacted 452 new criminal offenses”

Yes.

Enough already.

We have no further need for law makers, and we could now probably use law unmakers.

My sperm is no more a person then your unfertilized egg

Its when the sperm and egg meet..then we have a new third party that has a say

If its illegal for me to ejaculate then it’s illegal for you to ovulate

...Men have to answer for their actions and so forth. So if there’s going to be an emission, it would have to be done in a hospital where the semen could be preserved for future pregnancies or it would be directly deposited into the vagina of a woman....

There we go folks. I propose a $100 fine for each time a woman refuses to receive the "deposit".

The distinction that she fails to understand is that no one is trying to prevent anything a woman does with an unfertilized egg, so creating a false dichotomy with sperm is just indicative of a failed education. The debate is about fertilized eggs (also known as a baby), and whether they, being human, are entitled to protection.

This is probably a reasonable response to a law that banned contraception for women.

Except there are no laws banning contraception for women.

Instead, the only argument over contraception is whether a health insurance paid for by others is REQUIRED to cover contraception.

The debate then for masturbation should be about whether a man can get a government check to pay for a sex worker to help him with his task.

"Just play it off as a serious bill by a southern yahoo to clueless leftist relatives, acquaintances and coworkers, and watch them go ballistic in opposition."

Exactly. There are 3 aspects of this bill:

  1. The vasectomy & viagra clauses ("freedom of conscience" for doctors to not perform operation or prescribe Rx) are meant as nasty sarcastic jabs against Christian pro-lifers who believe doctors shouldn't be forced to perform abortions or prescribe abortifacents.
  2. The masturbation clause doesn't logically fit, and can only have been put in for one purpose: to ensure that news of her bill goes viral.
  3. It's no accident this came from a leftist legislator in TX. If the news was from NY or CA, people would quickly smell a rat. But seeing "Texas" makes readers assume it's a conservative "bible thumper" (as trademarked by Hollywood) legislator, ensuring the story is believed, and passed on far & wide. Hey, look how many Freepers have been suckered in! Multiply that for all Lefties who read it. The perps of this Fake News are counting on people not noticing it's a female Democrat lawmaker. This published version left out the gender, and most others will likely leave out the "(D)". Very few people take the time to read anything in depth. They read the headline & at most a paragraph or two of Fake News like this, and believe it.
Conservatives should fight fire with fire. Talk some GOP lawmaker in CA or NY into introducing an outrageous bill from the other side (eg, criminal penalties & mandatory jailtime for local LEO's who cooperate with ICE?). I'll bet their governor's mansions & statehouses get really tired really quickly of outraged phone calls from around the nation.

Ladies & gents, the latest & greatest new Fad in Fakedom: Fake Laws!

I understand that. But my complaint about it goes into the stupidity of spending the peoples money with trash like this being submitted with all the other problems they are having in Texas like other states. It had a number, House Bill 4260, therefore it took people to create it, get it formatted, and submitted to the state properly using taxpayer money. It further is going to cost the taxpayer to get it time on the floor at much higher prices until it is finally, I hope, chased off the floor or voted down. Money all the way.

If this is how she wants to waste the money of the people she is supposed to be representing, then embarrass the he)) out of her by putting this crap on national television and identifying her. Her voters need to see how she is handling their trust and funds. And the federal voters need to see just how the libs will mismanage their taxpayer money if they let them. More lies. Nail each one to the cross.
