Jackson's words were, "John Marshall has made his decision. Now let him enforce it!"

At that moment, Jackson committed an impeachable offense, based on the power that the Supreme Court had aggregated to itself in Marbury v. Madison in 1803. The reason that Jackson wasn't impeached was that both Congress and the people were on Jackson's side on the Indian removal issue. Had there been an impeachment attempt, senators and congressmen would have been lynched by their angry constituents.

We like to think that the Republicans control both Houses of Congress. Actually, that's not true. A coalition of RINOs and Democrats control both Houses, and they are eagerly awaiting that kind of response from Trump, as are the Media and the Deep State. Defying the courts is a high stakes gamble, because in this day and age, senators and congressmen are protected by federal law enforcement types who would not look kindly on a necktie party for the people they protect.

Thanks for the history lesson.

Maybe we should bring back hanging, might be time for pitchforks and torches.
