One can tell this is a horrible law simply by the fact that leftists are not rioting in the streets once it was unveiled.

Leftists LIKE it!

What I’ve been saying all week. I can’t believe Trump would go through so much just to become a b*tch to Ryan, something else has to be going on but on the other hand, why ever endorsed that back stabbing weasel is beyond me.

I just sent the link of this page to Trump on Twitter and he DOES read them. He answered me last year so Jims letter could very well reach him.

I’d be more inclined to believe that he wants “the deal” to go back and forth and have some creative brainstorming, resulting in something that we can all live with in this imperfect world.

But there is no back and forth. Ryan and his minions are not allowing any debate or changes or amendments. What we see is what President Trump is going to get.

Liability (lawsuits) need to be addressed, out-of-state competition for insurance and market competitiveness are the only things that will drive down costs and increase care quality.

There will be no decreases while the government subsidizes health care insurance. The costs go up because the people getting coverage under these schemes are the elderly and the sick. The new customers are costing far more than their premiums cover, so prices go up. Tort reform has been in place in half the states for some time now and there is no evidence it's reduced health care premiums, and selling across state lines is meaningless unless the company can make money.

Repeal, don't replace. There is nothing, nothing at all, that government can do in this area that will not make things worse. Ryan's plan will cover fewer people, run up the deficit, and will not make insurance cheaper for anyone.

High-cost low-deductible complete care
Low-Cost high deducible catastrophic care

The problem is that thanks to Obamacare all that is available is high-cost, high-deductible. Ryancare isn't going to change that.

Since the dems screwed all the folks with pre-existing conditions something will have to be done for them. Probably cheaper to expand medicare to cover them.

Medicare was designed to cover the elderly.

The federal government, DC lawyers, and politicians have no business in healthcare. If the desire is to let people help themselves then give them tax credits for health expenses.

"A key component of Ocare was forcing insurance companies to accept those with prexisisting conditions. That destroys a core fundamental principle of insurance. Ocare destroyed insurance and replaced it with health care. Trump supports this key component of Ocare. This is a debate over health care spending and taxation which no conservatives or republicans will ever win.

For me It’s about what I thought he would deliver. I ask for two things immigration control and SC picks. He is delivering. Anything else is gravy."

As long as the sense of the country is that Bobocare reform is down the list and SCOTUS pix and border walls are more important. Unsure. Obviously the House wants cover for 2018. It will do us no good to pick up 5 Senate seats and lose 25 House seats.

Once Bobo took a condition (millions without healthcare, pretty much the natural state of things forever) and instead of addressing that problem, f'd it up for everyone by mandating purchases of insurance, he blew the pooch - intentionally, mind you, so that Cankles could institute single-payer.

I agree with Jim in the highest regard: Repeal. Obamacare. In. Its. Entirety.

But FIRST, hold HEARINGS on OBAMACARE: subpoena Obama, Valjar, Gruber, Cankles, Pelosi, and Emmanuel.

Well said, Jim. My sentiments exactly. Trump MUST know any compromise on Obamacare is a win for the establishment and will very possibly destroy his base support.

Trump made it clear from the getgo that this is not his plan. This is Ryan’s baby.

Paul Ryan even planned the schedule [interviewed by Hannity during the DC visit]:

Ryan told Hannity:

1. In February our staffers are too busy hunting down Obama executive orders before the deadline locks them in.

2. In March the House will vote on repeal/replace Obamacare, and I assure you that you, Hannity, that you will love it.

3. After healtchcare we work on the tax cut.

~~~~
Hannity will keep reminding everyone that this is Ryan’s RINO-care, not Trump’s. In the meantime, Trump keeps wanting something better, eager to talk with congress members about improvements over RINO-care.
“If people are sincerely upset and really feel the need to “do something”, they need to be burning up the phone lines to their congress critters, like right now.”
You’re assuming that isn’t happening - it is.
In addition, the fact is many in Congress and the President himself read and consider FreeRepublic when gauging conservative sentiment. You can bet they’ve taken note that “people are sincerely upset”.
Try not to project your own inadequacies so much; it’s not helpful.
Instead of just commenting here, go to whitehouse.gov and write an email to Pres. Trump opposing Ryancare or Obamacare light. I did. He needs to hear from us!!
Dittos President Trump - RINO-Care is NOT the way to go!
Broom it and start over with your own healthcare bill, not something the Ryan RINOs conjure up. Maybe wait until Ryan, McCain, Graham, others are forced to resign when PizzaGate explodes. Then you’ll have more people in Congress you can actually work with and make progress.
The other 2 parts don’t exist that was said to buy time if they even intend on the other parts they proclaim exist. Notice how they bought time to roll this disaster out? Why you may ask? Because even this part didn’t exist otherwise they’d have rolled it out the day after he was elected. They had 7 years to roll it out and waited over two months to roll this out.
That tells me this never existed nor do parts two or three. It’s a Sham
He, Pence and Pubus are attacking freedom caucus cantidates with commercials and promising primarying opposition to this bill. Even when you hear it from his own lips he fully backs it that’s what we are supposed to translate to “he’s negotiating?”
He said if it hits his desk he’d sign yet we are still told “what he really meant was” enough of the Rosetta Stone translators I’ll stick to his own words and that of his Admin.
“Broom it and start over with your own healthcare bill, not something the Ryan RINOs conjure up. “
There is no need for his own healthcare bill. The best approach is to REPEAL. Just repeal and do NOT “replace” with a RINO bill, which is exactly what is happening. ugh
I don’t need blowhard Hannity translating for me what I and others heard come directly from our Presidents lips and the ACTIONS he, Pence and Pubus are behind the scenes taking on Freedom caucus Republicans. I’m sorry but I tire of what he really meant, what he is really doing, what his intent really is when they fly in the face of his own words and actions.
He said if the bill comes to my desk I’ll sign it. He said those against Ryan’s plan he’d work to primary them. How simplistic can that be?
This bill has President Trump’s fingerprints all over it. This is what he ran on - his problem with Obamacare was that it didn’t go far enough and didn’t “take care of everybody” and conservatives who have a problem with it he said “get used to it!”. He made that clear repeatedly on the campaign trail, so I’m not sure why we should be surprised he is going full throttle pushing this bill...it is what he wanted and pledged to enact, and Ryan and the Congressional leadership appear obliged to follow his lead.
The President has done many good things since he took office, but in this case, we’re going to have to stand up to him and not try to pass blame just onto other actors on this issue.
If parts 2 & 3 are rolled out then you will be proven wrong, if not you will be proven right.
The pure fact is you don’t have any inside info to prove your point and neither do I except we HAVE been told there are three parts to the repeal/replace.
