I have to assume a car’s computer-controlled fuel injection system could be hacked to lock the car’s digital “throttle” wide-open.
Some high-performance cars can accelerate from, say, 40 mph to 100 mph in mere seconds. The results could be catastrophic for a tired or inattentive driver.
Bingo.
A car is designed with the idea that no one would willfully modify it to do that so there’s no mechanical safeguard. Insert a small modification and once the car does a bit of travel, randomly accelerate on full throttle.
