ESPN layoffs to hit on-camera personalities
CNN Money ^ | March 6, 2017: 10:47 AM ET | Ahiza Garcia

ESPN will lay off some of the personalities who appear on TV, radio and online.

The cuts will only affect "talent" -- not rank-and-file employees, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The details are still being finalized, but layoffs are expected to take place through June.

last night, ESPN2 had a documentary about how a wnba player moved from a ‘failed’ marriage to being a lesbian with a team coach.

It was super sympathetic and did not mention how the husband/kid were impacted.

It is similar to when mtv stopped music videos

ESPN can restore their lost credibility and get rid of dead weight at the same time. Fire all their “reporters” and “editors” who have been interjecting their brain dead political opinion into a SPORTS network’s coverage.

Clown Left still has not figured it out. MOST Americans have no interest in having moronic poltical comments from never been anything media itidots interjected into their entertainment.

Every media enterprise has some lists like the following for their own enterprise which the bean counters analyze to recommend decisions:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/natalierobehmed/2016/10/06/the-worlds-highest-paid-tv-show-hosts-dr-phil-leads-with-88-million/#458d0c30343b

In addition, the “bean counters analysis” process itself is getting more automated all the time via modern technology. Honest Statistics Science is the way of the future for hiring/firing decision making. The key for each of us is to be high value & low risk. And the same goes for whatever local, State, and federal governments we live under in the global economy as the people in the good “value to risk” places will prosper and the ones that don’t won’t.

IMHO when ESPN went political it was their big downfall. As far as I am concerned they can go to Hell.

Amen! Between the nothing to do with sports comments on ESPN & now the Disney gay push in their Beauty & Bestiality, this company is falling fast & I for one am glad to see it!

ESPN has become unwatchable.

But then again so have all the 'sports' networks.

They all think they have to make political comments.

All the bimbos need to go. Women do not belong in any capacity in men’s sports IMO.

OMG YES, there must be 32 of them full time, and I am assuming that since they are females, at least 16 substitutes for the days when they are bleeding from their eyes, ears, their uknowwheres.

I cannot wait to see the list.

My husband and I used to watch Mike & Mike every day while he got ready for work, and then I would keep ESPN on as background noise. Haven’t watched it in over 2 years as it got way too political and when I had to have Obama mixed with my sports - forget about it.

Those I would love to see go: Mike Greenburg, Jamele Hill, Michael Smith, Stephen A. Smith, and just about every woman who is there to ask the touchy feely questions. Yuck.

The only people I like on ESPN anymore are Mark Schlereth and Herm Edwards.
