this nailed it.
It’s difficult to find humor in this madness but the artless way in which lefty media types parrot their talking points is good comedy value.
There are always a ridiculous number of them seated around a table (CNN has had a dozen or more at one time). The round table is intentional - it makes for bad TV since we’re always looking at someone’s back or the back of their head - because it implies that the overall tenor of the show is a balanced viewpoint when, obviously, the viewpoint is all liberalism all the time.
Each of them, especially the woman, takes on a deadly serious air (eg the goggle-eyed Cokie Roberts) as they utter the exact same buzzwords and catchphrases. They pretend (?) that what they’re saying is original in content and wording yet time and again they have been caught out by ‘media montages’ that show their lockstep, preplanned fusillade of cliches.
These people are literally reading the paper or an email brief minutes before they go on air. They have neither the time nor the inclination to gather their own information, let alone apply logic, chronology or anything else that might lead them to an independent viewpoint.
They spew their groupthink, have coffee and croissants and do it all again the next day.
Kurt Schlichter is one of my new favorites.
