The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trumps assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trumps phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.
I didn't see Comey publicly rejecting the Russian hacking claims - even though he told Preibus in private there was no evidence. He refused to make a public statement on it.
perhaps they can’t make thatbstaement. Perhaps that is why Comey said that the DOJ needs to come oit and say it. perhaps it’s a trap for the DOJ.
