The prisons are full of murderers, rapists, serial killers, and bank robbers who will swear they never did any of the crimes they are incarcerated for. Even though they're behind bars, even though they were convicted in court, even though they evidence against them is overwhelming. They still "flatly deny" they did anything wrong.
A "flat denial" is only worth as much as the character of the person who offers it. In Obama's case (and Schumer's) that character is worthless, as is their protestation of innocence.
