Looks like a semantic game is being played on the difference between “wire tap” and “electronic surveillance.” It looks like the President was using “wire tap” in a generic sense for all types of surveillance of communications, telephone and electronic/computers, by the government.
We know from Hillary herself back in October that there was some type of surveillance of Trump’s communications/computers was going on. She put out a press release.
