My very good friend had serious condition of schizophrenia. Its very difficult to get right help. Psychiatrist stopped seeing her because she told him that he is destroying her life. She will call cops or visit Police station on weekly basis complain about someone. She had harassed city council members, neighbors, ex bosses, Newspaper offices, cops, her own sister family, myself, Doctor office, Dentist, Grocery stores, Gym.
Someone need to administer her medicine. No service do that.
She is danger to society.
It runs in our family. My cousin lived in a half way type facility. His social worker gave him his meds everyday. Unfortunatly when the dr changed his med they were unable to monitor closely enough and he killed himself. It’s always an option for the mentally ill. My son worked as a social worker. His clients were the homeless mentally Ill (mostly veterans). Part of his job was making sure his crew got their medicine. He talked more than one off the top floor of the parking garage. Really took a tole on him. He’s now working with families
Unfortunately not all counties see the need for a program for their sick neighbors
