Morning All....
I’m skipping breakfast. I’m off to see the knee doctor early about that silicone stuff they inject into your knees when you’re bone-on-bone. The cortisone shots didn’t help much - anyone know anything about these gel shots? Any experiences out there, good or bad?
Morning, Judy.
Hope all goes well at your doctors, don’t know about the gel shots, are you looking at knee replacement surgery down the road?
Morning JudyinCanada, my Orthopedist has discussed this with me. It is administered over 5 weeks on a weekly basis. He said the treatment would last foe 6-12 months. Will not take this treatment until pain becomes worse.........
Hi Judy , if it is made of cocks comb (supartz for example) some have had luck with it. I had no luck. It is usually just a stop gap
I am having a total knee replacement on the 20th of March. Wish me luck.
Irish :)
I have a friend who has benefitted from these but they have to be repeated periodically. She will probably still end up with a knee replacement but she’s trying to hold it off.
I’m allergic to feathers so these injections (from a rooster’s cockscomb) weren’t an option for me. Cortisone injections did not help, so I had a knee replacement two years ago.
Hope you got some helpful information from your doctor. Bone-on-bone pain is horrible.
