I take no issue with the recusal. In fact, Sessions, during confirmation, said he would recuse if any investigation occured about the Trump campaign. This, to me, is perfectly okay.
The problems I am seeing is what I perceived as a weak-sister performance by Jeff Sessions at the presser, in which he said a few times “I don’t recall”, and even said “Maybe I should have answered differently.”
Then this one sentence by President Trump in an otherwise flawless statement: “He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional. “
These people have all day to prepare their statements. They cannot let one opening, one tactical mistake, be contained therein.

I know what you are saying, but we have demanded that our new leadership be honest with the public. I’d say they were being honest.
Whether the public will acknowledge that honesty is another question. The DEMS will still pounce on this, regardless of what Sessions does or says, so I am not going to criticize their remarks.
I think what they did defused the little ‘bomb’ the Dems had.
Again, we differ on the view of the act, and we won’t know whose opinion was correct until we get to see more of the play. So far, it’s like a comedy and tragedy rolled into one.
