It's American history, man. Of course I am aware of all of that and plenty more. Of course you know he sat down with the Blacks leaders of the times, while President, and spelled out his whole plan for colonization in front of them. They didn't go for it. Frederick Douglas spoke very highly of Abe. I think he said he never met a less prejudiced man.

You and your ilk miss the point of Lincoln's letter to Greeley. "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union." Get it? Not hard to understand. Slavery was a states issue. Not Lincoln's primary objective. Figure out why he's called "Honest Abe". Big man you are to spit on him. He'd have knocked your teeth out the back of your skull. Please re-read his first inaugural, slowly. Yeah, he was a big lawyer for the railroads, also turned down the offer of a lifetime to work for them. But don't forget he argued for and against many times. Big man you are. Sorry you have to live in this country that Abe managed to preserve for you.

Of course Lincoln’s “paramount” object was to save the Union. How could he cash-in otherwise? Who cares that he trashed the constitution and behaved like the complete despot? Not you, nor your progressive, “living constitution”, ilk, of course.

HandyDandy “Man”, you wrote, “Big man you are to spit on him. He’d have knocked your teeth out the back of your skull.”

No doubt Lincoln was a thug and a tyrant, and I wouldn’t put it past him to have beaten up a few women in his life.

For the record, I am a retired old lady who was born and raised in the north, and served as a librarian in northern public schools until retirement. So please refrain from playing the, “I’m a big man because I support Lincoln and he would knock your teeth out”, B. S.

Our primary political differences is that I oppose all forms of tyranny. You don’t seem to recognize tyranny when it “smacks you upside the head”. Ever hear of a man named Henry Charles Carey, one of Lincoln’s economic “geniuses”? He is mentioned in this 15 year-old FR post:
