*snert*
The girl child will decide to live alone when she does, indeed, realize he can’t be fixed because he doesn’t want to be. Living alone has its own set of perks, and one of them is the absence of abuse. On the other hand, there is also the thing of talking out loud to oneself, just to hear the sound of a human voice. Or, as Gandalf said, “Talking to the wisest person present.”
More wind today. *sigh* Chicago has nothing on us in that department.
We have more rain. I will go to Walmart anyway, but not yet.

GAH!!!
I need to go to Albertson’s and get some chicken, and stuff to make a salad, but they are higher than Walmart, so I hope I have enough. I’m not eating anything but salads for a while. Well, for my “big” meal, anyway. I’m hoping my yogurt will last until payday.
And I have to get laundry detergent, too. But not today.
Your media mail is in Monroe this morning. :o]
Excellent. I love getting packages!
Iknowhuh? I love getting packages, too!
The clothes are all hung up and I’m heading for Albertson’s before the school zone drops the speed by 20 mph. It’s only 35, but when the kids are present, it drops. This is the only one in Henderson that’s 15 mph.
Anyway, I’m outta here.
Good luck at Albertson’s. It’s still raining here.
It’s Monday, isn’t it?
No chicken things. Hot wings, BBQ and hot wings. No pieces.
I was looking at the produce thinking how stinking high it was ($2.99 for Roma tomatoes and $3.00 for ONE Hass avocado) and then I looked up at some noise someone was making, and right in front of my eyes was a sign that read: ORGANIC.
It was almost enough for me to beat feet over to Wally’s! I found some cheaper stuff the next bin over, but I’m going to have to re-think this. I may see what I can find at Wally’s on my next foray. Maybe I can buy chicken breasts, cook them and shred them for my salads.
The Direct Deposit should be in in the next few days, so it will give me time to ponder the possibilities. Pork might be an option, too.
I’m sorry you have rain, but maybe it’s needed. It’s overcast here, and my back is killing me but the barometer is rising, so I’m encouraged. But the wind. The wind is scheduled (who scheduled it???) to really blow about the time Charlie and I meet up.
About once every couple of weeks, I think about moving to St George, mostly to get away from the BS here, both in the complex and in my personal life. But here I am. I can afford about half of the rent they want for studio apartments there, but at least I would be out of here...she dreams...
We do need rain, but maybe not 5” in 36 hours. I’m spending the morning sending emails about Scouts, Spanish music, education, more Scouts ... in between printing off animal pictures for Kathleen.
When I come back in from visiting with Charlie, I’m going to transfer the contacts from my old phone, then try to erase as much as I can of my personal data, them get it ready to mail to Cell Phones for Soldiers.
And maybe I’ll get an email written that I didn’t do yesterday. And maybe after that, I’ll be a slug. ;o]
And apparently we will have your rain tomorrow..
Walp. My Monday took an abrupt change for the better. The birthday present for Hockeybughow came, so I will be able to mail it in time for his birthday this year. Next item to buy is a tie for Sam, for his 16th birthday in September. AND an appropriate tie tack!
The best part of the day was provided by Richard, the Bible Hunter. He gave me an old (1924) book of daily Bible devotions for the entire year, and a boxed book called “Revelations.” It’s not really Revelations, but it has text from the Book and there are some very beautiful tempera paintings of various verses, and each page that has text has been done in a calligraphy style that is combined from three other styles. Each page, painting and text, has a beautiful border that is not duplicated. It is a stuning book!
I went to peel the avocado for the salad and the darn thing is harder than I expected it to be. Drat. So my salad is little more than just lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Hmpf.
While I was in Albertson’s I looked for some salad dressing, but it was all too expensive for me. I decided to wait until I got home to see if I had any Good Seasons mix, and I do. But I need to get some lime and/or lemon juice as I don’t like to use vinegar in my dressings.
It’s still overcast, and it’s getting warmer, but I’m not going out again.
Tomorrow, I’ll try to get over to get my prescription. I don’t want to wait any longer for it. Then Friday, I have to go in again, but not quite so far, and also, much earlier, for the blood draw. I think there are 10 pages, so the phlebotomist will have to take at least that many vials.
I’ll check them out. I have two ‘go-to’ vendors for stuff for my VW products, but since I normally don’t buy Japanese cars I don’t have any ‘approved’ vendors for Subaru parts. I’ve been using EBay for what I have needed so far.
It’s not raining today (although it looks like it could) but I now need to fit troubleshooting the Subaru and shortening the advanced grass substitute into today because tomorrow Tax Chick is sending us her rain.. ;-)
And now that I’ve said that I looked at the notalwaysAccu(rate)Weather applet and it shows that an advance party of the rain express is approaching and it is foreguessing ‘Rain will start in 16 minutes’..
Well - if it rains that does take shortening the A.G.S. off the list since wet greenery will glop up the underside of the mower deck..
If you’re getting the rain, that means it should stop raining here. Nothing personal, of course.
It was either find an auto parts place online or pay for a dealership to “order” the part, wait three or four weeks, and then pay the mechanic exorbitant prices. I chose the former. Even with the mechanic charging, the cost still wasn’t as bad as a part from the dealer. In fact, it’s only about a third.
Radar indicates that you are still in it for a while before it shuffles our way. We have the northern tendril approaching us. And the rain didn’t start in 16 minutes. But the radar is green over us now..
Maybe I can lower the height of the A.G.S. in some portion of the yard before it hits. Of course as soon as I drive the New Red Ridingthing out into the yard..
And Son#1 is trying to do rear brakes on his Jeep.. I showed him the radar. ;-)
