Target reported sales and earnings that missed Wall Street's expectations on Tuesday, in what was a disappointing holiday quarter for the big-box retailer. At the same time, the retailer issued an outlook for fiscal year 2017 that fell well short of analysts' expectations.
Here's how the company did:
EPS: $1.45 per share, excluding items, versus $1.51 per share expected by Thomson Reuters analysts' consensus. Revenue: $20.69 billion versus $20.7 billion expected by Thomson Reuters. Same-store sales: A decline of 1.5 percent versus the 1.4 percent decline expected by FactSet.
A year earlier, Target earned $1.52 a share on $21.6 billion in revenue. The retailer's sales decline is partly attributable to the sale of its pharmacy business to CVS in December 2015. That pressure, however, is not the only reason the discounter is struggling to keep up with Wal-Mart.
The company's shares fell 12 percent in premarket trading.

Must be the weather again. /s
Their outlook for 2017 was worse than the results.
Haven't been to Target since they dumped the Salvation Army.
Make progressive liberalism your business plan and all sorts of bad things happen....
I will never step foot in target. Ever
Walmart welcomes Target’s failure. The smartest thing they could do, at this point. Would be to rescind the transgender bathroom policy and fire their CEO. Anything less and they are going the way of Kmart or Gibsons.
Hey Target....here’s idea to stop the plunging.. why don’t you open about 40 transgender stores.....catering to the trannies
they all need new wardrobes.
“I will never step foot in target. Ever”
Nor will I. It started with the stupid getting rid of “boys” and “girls” toys and colors but saying that men could use women’s dressing rooms and restrooms was the nail in the coffin.

Too late, rescind all they want - they may win back some of ‘us’ that have been boycotting, but then they will also get boycotted by the professional snowflakes...basically they stepped in a big pile of sh@t when they decided to mix politics with business and the road back, if ever, is going to be a long one.
I quit Target back when they thru out the Salvation Army folks years ago .
Here’s another reason to boycott Target:

Thank you to the following sponsors for their generous support.
... Target
...
Target and Kohl’s are both poorly run stores since both offended us.
A lot of Hollywood snowflakes are killing their careers by opening their pie holes and announcing their fake love for all things evil because they think it will earn them brownie points. All it really announces is how much they’d live in the bubble and out of touch with reality they are.
Target : now offering safe spaces to voyeurs, child molesters and other perverts.
dittos
So if Target stock is in the toilet, do we know which one?
Generally I don’t shop at Target...when they did their restroom thingy, I purposefully stay out of there now.
Let them choke on their queer friendliness.
The reason is obvious.
