My B-I-L does exactly the same thing.

If he sees any Pink inside of his Steak, it isn’t cooked enough. While I usually order my Steak Medium, I order it Medium Rare if we go out to eat just to see him squirm.

He also puts Catsup on everything, and I mean everything.

Could be a generational thing. Trump's about the same age as my father and when my father had control of the grill, everything on it was cooked extra well done, be it hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken or steak. I remember scraping the charcoal off my meat and my father chiding me for taking off the "best part". If a burger even had a hint of pink inside of it, it was considered by him to be still raw.

It wasn't until I was much older that I discovered just how delicious a juicy medium-rare or rare steak could be.

Don't forget that before the 1970s, store-bought meat was often sketchy. Sometimes meat would sit on supermarket loading docks for hours before it got put in a cold space. So people would cook it all the way through to make sure there was no bacteria left.

But it's his steak; he paid for it, he's gonna eat it, he can get it cooked any way he likes.

And when it's my steak, that I paid for, it'll be cooked the way I like it.
