Inside Trump's Secret Dinner: [Tips One Busboy a C-Note!]
Independent Journal Review ^ | February 26, 2017 | Benny Johnson

Posted on 02/27/2017 11:38:07 AM PST by Oakleaf

12:01 PM Saturday, February 25th: I received a tip from a well informed source that Trump would be dining at the BLT Steakhouse inside his Trump hotel at approximately 6 PM that evening. I had seen the president dine in the restaurant before following a campaign event held at the property in October. I assumed he would take his regular table, a circular velvet one in the back on the second level of the steakhouse. I called and made a reservation for the balcony level. I wagered that if the president did not show up, at least we would get some nice pop-overs....

One woman shouts at him “Donald, it's my birthday!” Trump stops and says “Happy birthday,” as he hugs the elated woman. “How about a birthday present? Let's take a photo,” he says to her, afterward telling the woman she looks very young and has great skin....

8:45 PM: Trump is served his entree. According to a waiter, who wished to remain anonymous:

“The President ordered a well-done steak. An aged New York strip. He ate it with catsup as he always does. The sides and appetizers on the table were shared. Three jumbo shrimp cocktails were delivered before the meal. At one point, the President looked at his watch and remarked ”They are filming 'Saturday Night Live' right now. Can't wait to see what they are gonna do to me this week.“ It was hard to serve him because he is so funny and relaxed, it makes you laugh.”...

10:14 PM: Trump and his party get up to leave. The president is stopped momentarily for selfies and handshakes. discreetly, Trump can be seen handing cash to one of the latino busboys for his table. The president handed the young man a $100 bill.

Hopefully it was fried in butter or lard.

Yes, this is a security risk, unless it was on purpose.

Thankfully DC has strict firearms laws./s

” That’s how I like my steaks. Smothered in catsup.”
That makes you an extra deplorable, deplorable, irredeemable bigly.

Sorry to say it but putting catsup on a quality steak comes pretty close to high crimes and misdemeanors.

My take from this is that an independent reporter actually used his initiative to get a story while the major media outlets with all their resources and talent set in their ivory towers and complained that the president didn’t hand the story to them.

My wife is from Texas. First time we had steak together she ate it well done and with ketchup. I was totally shocked. A Texan, a well done steak, AND ketchup. I have worked on her for many years and now she eats steak rare, actually she eats it more rare than I do. I am kind of a medium rare guy.

She does still do ketchup some times. Also uses it on other meats. So now I call it Texas Barbecue sauce. She hates that.

When I was a kid my mom would make potato pancakes with leftover mashed potatoes. I would put ketchup on those. outstanding!

Meat was fried in lard which we rendered from animal fat. Cracklins were later added to homemade cornbread which was baked in a cast iron skillet. Eggs were always fried in fresh churned butter from a cow named Molly who gave mostly cream. My dad loved fresh buttermilk for breakfast. Nothing was wasted.

HORRORS! Ketchup on a fine aged New York Strip!

It is hideous. "Well done" is also hideous.

But it's his steak; he paid for it, he's gonna eat it, he can get it cooked any way he likes.

And when it's my steak, that I paid for, it'll be cooked the way I like it.

Freedom.

What a concept.

I grew up with parents who also overcooked all meats. it wasn’t until I married and was around my husband and his family who prided with themselves on barely cooked meats with excellent seasoning. My Mom’s idea of seasoning was salt! Period!

I knew it. Went back to the farm about 15 years ago. Wanted to show my oldest grandson where I grew up. All the acreage has been sold off and houses everywhere. Barn, picnic house, everything gone. Broke my heart. Just fond memories and a few old pictures is all that is left.

The media thinks reporting that makes him look ignorant and uncouth. The public sees that and thinks he’s very down to earth and unpretentious, it’s endearing even if it does ruin a good steak. He’s certainly entitled to have his prepared in any way that he wants.

I order mine the same way.

I HATE a steak that has any pink inside :-(

Catsup is just another steak sauce! and it’s OK to add a little A1 to the catsup.

Catsup is also passable as sweet-and-sour sauce for Chinese food.
