I heard the entire interview and the interviewee was trying to conflate illegal with legal.
I take personal affront to this because I’m a LEGAL immigrant (now naturalized citizen) who followed all the rules, paid the fee, got fingerprinted, took the test, was and still is a productive citizen, spoke the language.
Yeah, my voice would probably raise up an octave or two as well.
