Actually, when you think about it how big a leap is it to think that the Nazis figured out they were losing the war about a year before the war ended. They then rounded up everything and anything of value and moved it. Some to South America some to Antartica.
Anyone thinks that a broke USA after WWII is willing to sponsor "Operation High Jump" just for exploration when money was as tight as it was after the war is smoking stuff.It was always a high tech military op with good reason.
