Must be nice to get a refund. For some reason, I always have to write a check. Oh well at least she didn’t blow it on junk.
obviously you do not know how to claim on state and federal in order to be at point zero or to get a dollar bill back....nice guys finish last....do you realize the majority of our politicians are getting refunds?...think about it for a second?

If your stone-cold-stupid accountant can’t tell you how to start a business and deduct various expenses legally, thus, paying less taxes, get yourself a new accountant.

its a scam that we taxpayers probably never saw since most of us are older....
gee, my parents could have made out like bandits...
and gee, we could have done fun things too if our rent was paid for by other taxpayers....
It isn’t a Tax Refund, meaning she didn’t have that much deducted and get it back.
It’s EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit), a Taxpayer funded gift for having Kids and not making much money.
She paid no Income Taxes, as in ZERO.
OTOH, lots of folks would love to be in a position to have to pay at the end of the year. Took me a while to balance mine out but next year I should be getting less than $400 back - both retired and I'm using my military retirement as the balancer to get as close to zero as possible come tax time.
