I see Putin as a gangster statesman who kills his political opponents for political and financial reasons, takes hunks of countries to distract the people and build an empire, as a dictator who has displaced 1.8 million Ukrainians, killed many innocents in Syria with indiscriminate bombing, killed over 10 thousand in Ukraine, and caused unnecessary conflict in Europe. You see him, it seems, as an admirable man with the blessings of the Bible, a paladin of Christ whose sins from the KGB Gulag days are washed away by his aggressive bombing campaigns. You and I just don’t see eye to eye on what a Just War is or what a Christian believes. I see the Christian Church as an advocate for individual human dignity and restraint on unjust power. I do not buy the idea that a state run Church like Putin’s is going to restrain him or even speak up for victims of the state.

Looks like you don’t belong around here. Putin is now A-OK on FR.
"There are all sorts of theories about Donald Trumps affinity for Vladimir Putins Russia .. "
The NYRag opened with a statement as if it is fact when IN FACT, Trump has nothing to do with Putin nor Russia other than he and Putin are world leaders.
The article is titled (and addressed to/about) The Christian Right, not, "What do you think about Putin"
My response
""Christians love the absoluteness of Divine power and authority. We will always gravitate towards a man (men are featured in the Bible) that exercises power and authority if we believe it is a righteous man for a righteous cause."
Was in response to the article.
I agree with your assessmernt of Putin, but you post to me as if I am supporting him when in fact, I'm commenting about the Christian Right.
I'm getting ready to go to church ..... you ?
