I fought that battle for decades but I think even the Oxford Dictionary now acknowledges it to mean destroyed or reduced significantly and you and I and other word Nazis are left screaming that it means one out of ten. sigh. I sometimes wonder why I am so well educated.
Then there is meaning derived from popular use. That will eventually replace the top slot in the ol’ dictionary.
