Well, it's not run by the administration. It is run by the White House Correspondents' Association. It is a separate and private entity from the White House.

The president is just invited. To tell self-deprecating jokes and take jabs at the media. And to get roasted by the media.

Sounds like it will be loads of fun this year. Sparks will fly.

CNN would be more noticed by their absence than if they just went and took their lumps along with everyone else. Sucking their thumbs and staying home in their studio would only reinforce what Trump has been saying about them.
