US prosecutors charged a 51-year-old man with murder and attempted murder on Thursday after he allegedly started shooting in a crowded suburban Kansas City bar, killing an Indian and injuring two others, in an attack that some witnesses said was racially motivated.
Authorities repeatedly declined at a news conference to say whether the shooting was a hate crime although local police said they were working with the FBI to investigate the case.
A bartender at Austins Bar and Grill in Olathe, Kansas, said that.

Well, that’s no good.
I feel sorry for the victim and his family.
I also feel sorry for patriotic Americans who will be victimized by the Left after this incident.
This guy might have been a “Trump voter”, but chances are he was a democrat too. Media is a it silent about it...
So, this was a crowd likely pulling for the KS Jayhawks in an important game, this afternoon? And he shot up a crowded sports bar. Man, I can’t imagine the situation. A lot of sports bars are comfortable enough to be in.
KS Jayhawks”
University of Kansas has turned into a huge liberal enclave.
I’m sure it is, but basketball is also basketball and they are one of the most successful college teams of all time.
The picture of the suspect to me, makes him look like a definite possibility of an alcoholic and sorry, heavy cigarette smoker as well. Really worn out looking.
I am wondering what set him off, not saying anyone is responsible but him for what he did. Just wondering what made him zero in on them, unless he has lived under a rock he must have encountered foreign “looking” or “sounding” people all the time.
Purington, the alleged shooter, the white guy “was wearing a black-and-white scarf over his head at the time of the shooting. “
“Purinton is a desktop support specialist for GEN3RATION, an information technology company in the Kansas City area.”
So, not much to go on, one can read it for themselves, I know there is another thread on this as well.
Sorry my fingers were faster than my brain on that post. Was going to say that this surprised me because it occurred in Olathe but some people just shouldn’t drink. My niece, who is married to a Muzzie, lives in Olathe. None of the family have spoken to her since she announced her plans to wed.
Yes KU has a great basketball program and always has. My son graduated from there in the 1980’s and it wasn’t quite so liberal back then. Always was the party school, particularly when compared to K State. Kind of like comparing University of Texas to Texas A&M.
I was at that game. 13 in a row. Self is amazing. And yes, KU is trending liberal for sure. It was back when I was in school in the 60s. But there was no politics at that game.... just lots of fun.
Which is why we need to be more vigilant than ever to smack our racist uncle/neighbor upside the head and say, "if you can't get over it, then just STFU and sit down."
To be clear, it's disgusting. But even if you are an insufferable racist who can't be cured, at least be strategic and STFU because the fastest way to go from winning to losing is to support this kind of lunacy in any way shape or form.
There’s racism and sexism in all of us. It is to be a better person to squelch these feelings and impulses and look for the good in all people and to live people of different races.
The average liberal can’t accept that they have these “impure, imperfect” feelings. So they overcompensate because of their deep seated insecurity.
This would not have happened if Quantrill hadn’t half-assed it.
I don’t know. I’ve never been a Democrat.
Grew up in Kansas, albeit not in the 1800’s, and hadn’t heard about him until your post so looked him up on the internet. Learned something new today thanks to your comment.
