This is my strong suspicion. Suddenly, he needs to have the parents fuss and fret over him too, all because of his ‘condition’. If or when Jackie grows up and leaves the family home, I wonder how much longer her ‘sister’ will continue down this path. Of course, if Jacob has had enough hormonal treatments, some changes may be irreversible without surgery, and even more hormone and psychiactric treatments to reverse the prior reversals.

Gender confusion is a treatable mental disorder. However if he already had the gender corrective surgery, then we are in a different ball park. So Jacob is now Juliet. Are there not rules to accommodate bathroom use by "transgenders" who already had surgery?
