You wouldn’t like my wife’s mare then. When we took her to a trainer to get her started under saddle I asked the trainer after a couple of weeks what she thought about the horse. She said and this is an exact quote,”Your horse is destined to kill somebody.”
I love horses. Love to pet them and give them treats. Just don’t want to ride them. Lol.
I’m around horses all the time. Have friends who are real cowboys. My cousin has 2 horses. I like to love on them over the fence. Lol
**”Your horse is destined to kill somebody”**
If that trainer is very experienced, then her advice is not to be taken lightly.
Too many times riders get injured or even killed by a “bad horse”.
Raised around horses near Corry, PA, my dad’s got his first horse when he was just a small boy. He came to IL after hs, worked on farm that still used draft horses for livestock chores, and qrtr horses for working cattle. Through the years he broke horses himself. His weakness was never giving up on a horse he was training because he liked them too much. He received broken ribs a few times by not admitting the horse was just bad.
You can have one that seems good, but just has a “burr” that just won’t go away.
Me....I’ve been thrown enough, that at 62, I’m through with riding any horse I don’t trust. (Started riding bulls at age 18, quit the same day. Too painful. Dad said, “that’s not got anything to do with ranching. That’s just gladiator stuff”.
