Is it actually possible to buy an “Assault Weapon”? A full-auto M-4, AK, etc? Really?

An “Assault Weapon” is any of those “scary looking black automatic machine gun rifles” that shoots bullets every time you pull the trigger...

Just ask the left...They’ll tell you...

Better yet, ask Gersh Kuntzman...

Yes, in many states it is. Visit a Class 3 FFL licensee, go through an extensive background check. Get approval from the local law enforcement head, pay a federal transfer fee, and bring LOTS of cash.

IIRC, there have only been 2 crimes committed with legally purchased select fire weapons since the 30’s, and both of those were committed by police officers, one with a department owned gun.

Yes, it’s possible, as long as you pay the high price, high tax, and do all the paperwork...

The weapons you named are assault rifles, used in the military assault. And you can buy them if you have the coin and the time.

The “assault weapons” they are talking about are civilianized versions of the military rifles, which are sometimes used in criminal assaults (as are baseball bats and hammers). You can buy them too for less coin and time.

No. An "assault weapon" is defined my law as a semi-automatic rifle, not full-auto.

Fully automatic or 3-round burst capable [assault] rifles feature a selector switch. They are issued to military.

Yes it is possible. They are known as Class III weapons. For example:

They are heavily regulated and taxed. Lots of time, $$ and paperwork, but yes, it is possible.
