Here’s the deal I would do for illegals over 5 years who are upstanding workers and contributors to our society, presuming we want a deal after the criminals are out.
After they pass an English language and Constitution test, and oath, I’d levy a $10,000 illegal entry fine on them, one year to pay. This could raise about $2 billion. These funds would go to building the border wall.
We would encourage Mexico to create a illegal fine loan program, which would go to those who can’t pay.
Everyone would be happy. The former illegals could stay, and we would get our wall, paid by Mexico.
It’s a plan but to say that ‘Everyone would be happy’ does a disservice to those of us out here who just want them gone.
While I’ll agree that the bulk of the aliens are from Mexico but don’t forget that we have them from all over the world.
Time to move them out.
They can always signup with a labor contractor to come back and do the jobs Americans don’t want to do.
