The patrol officers who are getting killed have ZERO power over CCW isuuance decisions. The politicians and elected sheriffs have all of that power.

Patrol cops might have zero power against changing the laws you referred to, I agree. But when was the last time cops and their leadership publicly came out in a show of force or in protest, in favor of such permits for the law abiding public?
