Not sure about dealing with the weather in Texas, but too much in this state degrades everyday life. Overtaxed resources, aging water storage system, poor roads, high taxes (even for retirees with pensions, 401(k)/IRAs, etc.), high cost of living, a voting base willing to pass any tax increase/bond measure, DEM super-majorities, etc.
Just build an arc.
Been there, done that. Houston, Texas has hurricanes, yearly floods, tornados, high temps and high humidity in summer, freezes in winter, mosquitoes, and fire ants. You cannot beat Cal weather.
You need to post a thread asking those question of Texas Freepers.
Remember, Texas has four seasons. Ice Storms, Tornadoes, Drought, and Hurricane. Sometimes you can get two or three of those in the same week.
