By letting him resign instead? On the one hand it is good IMO for Breitbart to have stood by him, but I think it is actually also good for Breitbart to move on from him—which is what is now happening. They’ll have to work to make up for the traffic they will lose from that, but I think that’s probably better for their position as a legitimate news organization going forward.
If he’d been told resign or be fired, I suspect he wouldn’t have thanked them for standing by him and not caving.
Since Brietbart died the site bearing his name has meandered and lost focus. I’m not at all certain that they will remain as prominent as they currently are in the future. A large amount of the traffic they’ve received in the past year or two has been due to Milo Yiannopoulos.
FR is my “home” as far as the bulk of online comments that I make, but I do comment at other sites. I don’t get caught up in the advocacy of other sites as a result, so if Breitbart continues on and survives as an effective conservative voice I say great. If they don’t, that’s too bad but others will surely spring up in their place.
I’ve just read thru 40 reply’s and no-one has yet mentioned that he resigned to help Bannon! Trump wants him and the Marxists will do anything to torpedo him. Milo fell on his sword to try to save Bannon for Trump. Hell I don’t condone homosexuality let alone pedophilia but I respect principled people who may have human flaws. Milo needed to remove himself from bb to remove the smear tactic that the left will use against Bannon. Or should I say one smear tactic.
