Not so much mocking God as declaring their rejection of God.

I agree . . .truly a rejection of God.

I guess I was thinking along the lines of the first part of this article which talks about rejection of God as a mockery. “Mocking God means disrespecting, dishonoring, denying or ignoring His existence. It is a serious offense committed by those who David describes as wicked because there is “no fear of God before [their] eyes” (Psalm 36:1).” https://www.compellingtruth.org/God-is-not-mocked.html

Yes, we are in agreement. But, I was thinking more along the line: The Lord is slow to anger, but His wrath is terrible and just. And when Israel turned it’s collective back on the Lord, He made sure that each and everyone of them suffered. The righteous were punished along with the wicked.

I wouldn’t dare assume myself to be righteous, but I do try awfully hard. However we all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. So I suspect this is gonna hurt.

Know what I mean?
