I adopted that attitude last year when Trump clinched the nomination. I avoid political discussion and the settings in which they arise. The left has completely flipped their collective lid and unless you live in a solidly red state you are a target.
In certain social circles around here, my kids would be punished if the circle knew I am a Trump supporter. It isn’t just about me, so I have to care. These people would do backflips to get children of Approved Minorities (gays, Muslims, etc) to their kids’ parties. But certainly not us. Even if they can clearly see we are kind and decent, they hate us and want us in the back of the bus or possibly in camps.
And if you asked the same people on the left if they approved of bullying they would deny they did.
