In grade school, we recited the Lord’s Prayer daily along with the Pledge, until Madelyn Murray put the kibbosh on it.

In my Elementary School, which was about 85% Jewish, we always said the Lord’s Prayer every day before saying the Pledge of Allegiance, and a number of our teachers were Jewish. The Lord’s Prayer was viewed as an universal one, for all good people to share.
Re Madelyn Murray. Knew her son Bill and his girlfriend/wife very briefly and I’m sure that I met them at Beth Tefilah Synagogue during Rosh Hashonah in the late 1950’s. Bill deserted the atheist movement and spoke out against his mother and her craziness.
Re the successful Trump rally in Melbourne (and Orlando) area. My grandfather’s brothers owned a lot of downtown Orlando when it was orange and grapefruit groves (about 100 years ago through the 1960’s when it was sold, reportedly to the builders of EPCOT).
One of his brothers, my great Uncle Marvin (as we called him), was the mayor of Melbourne in the mid-1960s’. Good people and if they were liberals, they were not the nuts we have today. He was an intelligence/radar expert during WW2 to the point that when he came to visit my grandfather in Baltimore during WW2, he had two government bodyguards assigned to him. Found a document about him and what Air Force unit he was attached to at the National Archives.
I suspect that a good number of the Jewish citizens of Melbourne and Orlando showed up to support Pres. Trump. If had been there, I would have.
