Are Liberals Helping Trump?
The New York Times ^ | Feb. 18, 2017 | Sabrina Tavernise

Posted on 02/19/2017 3:27:43 AM PST by Trump20162020

Liberals may feel energized by a surge in political activism, and a unified stance against a president they see as irresponsible and even dangerous. But that momentum is provoking an equal and opposite reaction on the right. In recent interviews, conservative voters said they felt assaulted by what they said was a kind of moral Bolshevism — the belief that the liberal vision for the country was the only right one. Disagreeing meant being publicly shamed.

Protests and righteous indignation on social media and in Hollywood may seem to liberals to be about policy and persuasion. But moderate conservatives say they are having the opposite effect, chipping away at their middle ground and pushing them closer to Mr. Trump.

“The name calling from the left is crazy,” said Bryce Youngquist, 34, who works in sales for a tech start-up in Mountain View, Calif., a liberal enclave where admitting you voted for Mr. Trump is a little like saying in the 1950s that you were gay. “They are complaining that Trump calls people names, but they turned into some mean people.”

“...and am still not a big fan”

It’s time to be a big fan! At least in my opinion. Much of what Trump is doing, that may look silly, is actually INGENIOUS. He’s trolling the media, shooting them off in wild directions, and only now are they beginning to realize what’s happening to them. His press conference on Thursday was his best performance - by continuing to call them out as Fake News (which, of course, is true in many instances), is neutralizing their power to control people’s thoughts, at least on our side.

I remember when Bill Clinton ran against Bush in 1992, Clinton kept saying that we had “the worst economy in the past 50 years”, which was obviously totally fake new, but the media wouldn’t rebut it, and Bush, being the classy guy that he is would have his people out there saying stuff like: “Clinton is simply wrong on this, why just look at the Farm Equipment Manufacturing Index being up 3.5% in the past year, as an example”, all the while wrongly thinking that Americans are smart enough to ‘get it’ (Americans won’t get it, if they only hear one side).

Whereas Trump would simply say something like “That is LIE and it is FAKE NEWS”. And the people that Trump needs to win in 2018 and 2020 will agree with Trump...and the media will have lost all influence over them - and that is the way it needs to be, the media should simply report on this country, not try to ‘reshape the country’, as they’re obviously doing with their fake news. Trump is freezing them out...this incredible to watch!

I think what the OFA (Obama’s Organizing for America) is doing is holding Democrats to very left-wing positions, making it impossible for them to use Nancy Pelosi’s brilliant 2006 strategy (and it was brilliant), where she told Democrats running for the House to say whatever was needed to get elected, as long as they were willing to be on her side on “the tough issues”.

The Democrats followed that strategy and cleaned up in the 2006 mid-terms, taking back the House (Bush didn’t help either, but Pelosi still played it perfectly). The Dems would love to go back to that strategy, but With OFA on their tails, that strategy is much harder to pull off...since their ‘moderates’ (really just people posing as such) will not make it through the primaries...and only full-up radicals will be on the November ballots.

This is not going to end well for the Dems...and THANK GOD!

The Berkley riots seemed to propel Milo into the global spotlight.

We have Milo and they don’t.

“Yes, and that is why Nixon was taken out by other means.”

Part of Nixon’s problem was that never fed his base. He did a lot of STUPID THINGS in his first term (like creating nearly off of the leftist federal departments, going to China, wage and price controls, etc.) and when he needed his base to stick with him in hard times, they were gone.

Trump, of course, is much smarter and is keeping us happy - and as long we support Trump, it will POLITICAL SUICIDE for any Republican to vote for removing him from office.

“If you check her work, she’s been saying similar things since before the election. She seems to be an honest liberal, and she’s been onto something for a while, but no one in her party is listening.”

That’s good, I was getting nervous too. It seemed to be too easy for us. All I did was check her picture to verify that she was a hard-left liberal.

Be nice to Liz, Central...even though you’re right regarding the fact that NeverTrumpers came very, very, close to handing the White House to Hillary (and, in my opinion, because of that led to many of Trump’s problems since the election). We do need her type on our side.

Trump is very unorthodox and many people on our side have a very difficult time seeing just what he’s doing and what he is up against. They are now getting to see just that. And Liz is coming around, after all!

Nixon would have finished his second term a success if he had gotten possession of Hoover's secret files. As it was, Hoover had arranged for their destruction after his death in May of 1972 and Nixon's Justice Department proved too slow and inept to stop it. There is also some suspicion that the CIA contrived to entrap Nixon's plumbers at Watergate because their bumbling was compromising too many CIA operations and secrets.

Pat Buchanan may also be correct about how Nixon set the trap for himself. Although he liked to talk tough, Nixon was not a hard and ruthless man in the way that say, Bill Clinton is. Moreover, Nixon did not hold alcohol well, and after a customary second or third drink in the evening, tended to make vindictive comments and give crazy instructions to his aides. Longtime loyal aides knew not to take such talk seriously because it was just a way for Nixon to blow off steam.

As Nixon's first term progressed though, trusted aides Haldeman and Ehrlichman and old ally Attorney General John Mitchell were consumed by their daytime duties and too exhausted or otherwise unavailable to spend time with Nixon at night. New and less experienced aides like John Dean and Charles Colson were called to such duty and tended to take Nixon at his word, converting his alcohol liberated loose talk into the crazy schemes that led to the Watergate scandal and Nixon's downfall.

These kids are/were influenced by Fake Virtues. Case in point, open borders is charitable, even though order, chaos and dangers to democracy are thick and deadly to Americans who are forced to underwrite their own overthrow and takeover.

America has always known how and whom to save and to give refuge. It has until now never been cut throats and foreign gods.

Are you nuts?

Been reading much, about McCain?

What pray tell what has Republican leadership in McConnell and Paul Ryan done for Trump? Both totally fail to defend him, but sit in big chairs while the streets burn against him, and drag their size 4 high heels on every piece of his agenda, while they entertain and indulge the Democrats who are pushing social collapse. Sheesh!

The Party leadership hates Trump!

Wake up!

Liberals may feel energized by a surge in political activism...

| Sabrina Tavernise wins the 'first and foremost with stupid' award. Her first sentence is a lie. There is no 'activism' on the left - - it's paid political manipulation and organization by George Soros and his team of billionaire globalists.

How do we know it's a lie? The scale of the 'protest' and the organization is the same State to State. First, for large crowds THEY BUY Hollywood 'stars' like Madonna... and pay them well. Sometimes they buy popular bands and offer 'free concerts'.

Has Sabrina Tavernise checked to see how much Madonna was paid?

Then hire top notch sloganeers to write jingles and hire young women to make signs that look homemade... Then bus in 'protesters'...(hey Sabrina Tavernise have you ever asked yourself who hires the buses? How much that cost? Where the money's coming from? Who pays the folks who dream up the slogans? Who buys the matching steel batons for thugs to use to break out windows? Open YOUR EYES Sabrina.

It doesn't 'just happen - that stuff cost money - lot of it.

Here's when I'll believe a grassroots movement is happening on the left... when a democrat can go out - WITHOUT BANDS OR HIRED HOLLYWOOD STARS OR SIGNS PRINTED AND DISTRIBUTED - AND PULL IN 10,000 PEOPLE TO HEAR A DEMOCRAT SPEAK.

AGAIN - NO WARM UP FREE CONCERTS... NO 'STARS'... NO FAKE HANDMADE SIGNS.

IF DEMOCRAT CAN DRAW 10,000 PEOPLE WITHOUT THE PAID WORK OF GEORGE SOROS... THEN THIS MIGHT BE MILDLY BELIEVABLE. AS IS - - IT'S NOT.

Don’t get me wrong. I most definitely a fan. It’s just that the only man alive that I am a big fan of is Jesus.

I think trump is great! And, if it were not that we are in a mess beyond a human solution, I would really, REALLY be excited about the stuff he is doing. Seriously. In my opinion, he’s handling it better than anyone else I can think of, even Reagan.

It's not just name calling. We know about the violence on the west coast in Cal. and Washington.

Here is a video of protestors in Chicago showing their kids how to tear apart a Trump pinata.

I did not start out a big fan of “Candidate” Trump. However, the more the unholy trio of the Left, Academia, and the Media, excoriated him, the more I began to love him! It was a definite “Cause and Effect” thing for me.

Just one addition to your excellent reality list:

They have infiltrated, undermined and get paid by every storytelling institution - religion, government, academia, and the media.

Thanks for posting this. The left we are dealing with today are fascists and too many people fail to realize this reality.

They use fascist tactics: intimidating and assaulting people, rioting and destroying property.

They promote the fascist ideology: suppressing freedom, of thought, speech and action while scapegoating anyone who does not support their agenda.

They engage in fascist rhetoric: claiming that whites, especially men, are the root of all problems, while hinting that they want to rid society of these “undesirable” people.

They call ordinary people who support the Constitution “Nazis” in an attempt to deceive us about their goals and ideology.

Why should anyone be surprised that the support for Trump just grows stronger the more that the left shows its true colors?

As for the country, she is worried.

“Change doesn’t occur until you hit rock bottom, like an alcoholic, on his knees, begging for help,” she said. “I think we still have farther to go.”

you think you've hit bottom, then there's a trap door.

It is not a good sign that the NYTs is printing this. It might mean the left is becoming better at seeing reality.

That is a dangerous thing...

I agree with your comments. This was my first thought as well.
