It is going to be an absolute joy watching this fine woman improve in every way over the next 8 years (God willing). This was a surprising, and very moving, prayer that I have never seen by any candidate or spouse in my memory.
I agree. Even the MSM was and is stunned. I saw some of the message boards commenting on new articles. A few criticized her, saying she gave the prayer in a "tight dress", asking "Is THIS even ALLOWED!", and "Did she plagiarize it?"
But most of the press seemed completely caught off guard. They wanted to whine about Trump's latest artillery barrage on their bias and lies.
I also remember that Trump said during his inauguration address that ultimately, we depend on God for our protection, and that he had five religious prayers at the event, the most in history, including Rev. Franklin Graham and Rabbi Marvin Hier.
Watching Melania's prayer again, I keep going back of this passage from Samuel.
Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: 'I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.' But now the LORD declares: 'Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.
