SAN FRANCISCO--The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation is pursuing at least three separate probes relating to alleged Russian hacking of the U.S. presidential elections, according to five current and former government officials with direct knowledge of the situation.
While the fact that the FBI is investigating had been reported previously by the New York Times and other media, these officials shed new light on both the precise number of inquires and their focus.
The FBI's Pittsburgh field office, which runs many cyber security investigations, is trying to identify the people behind breaches of the Democratic National Committee's computer systems, the officials said. Those breaches, in 2015 and the first half of 2016, exposed the internal communications of party officials as the Democratic nominating convention got underway and helped undermine support for Hillary Clinton.
The Pittsburgh case has progressed furthest, but Justice Department officials in Washington believe there is not enough clear evidence yet for an indictment, two of the sources said.
Meanwhile the bureau’s San Francisco office is trying to identify the people who called themselves “Guccifer 2” and posted emails stolen from Clinton campaign manager John Podesta’s account, the sources said. Those emails contained details about fundraising by the Clinton Foundation and other topics. . .

Belgium: Pittsburgh Youth Linked To Cyberattack On Brussels Airport
BRUSSELS (AP/KDKA) – Belgian authorities say that a U.S. youth in Pittsburgh tried to hack into the Brussels airport computer system and disable it the night after the March 22 attacks that killed 32 people.
The federal prosecutor’s office said in a statement Thursday that at its request, the FBI interrogated the 14-year-old Pittsburgh boy and said he confessed. The statement said the hacking attempt was unsuccessful and stressed that “it appeared there were no terrorist motives” for the cyber attacks.
The statement goes on to say the teen “is not radicalized” and that he told himself it was “the right time to carry out the attack.”
Belgian authorities have been on high alert since suicide bombers attacked the Brussels airport and subway system last March 22. . .

Don't they realize that 97% of the media has already declared that Putin did the hacking in order to get Trump elected. That should be proof enough. Why are they wasting tax payer money when this issue is well past being settled forever.

I still can’t understand how hacking Clintoonie and Podesta’s emails is somehow hacking the election. I guess you have to be doing a lot of recreational drugs. The wife and I are ready to swear on a stack of Bibles that no Russkis contacted us and forced us to vote for Donald Trump.
