Does an overlay get rid if win10...or just hide it? IM looking at new laptops...not looking forward to win10

Depending on the model you buy, you probably can just buy a Win 7 pro package on Ebay and install it over win 10 on the new machine.
I did that last spring on a new HP Envy laper for my wife.
Just got a new laptop last week with Win 10, which I did not like. Downloaded http://www.classicshell.net/ and got it to look and act like 7 pretty much.
Don’t use WinExplorer, but instead use Firefox and Thunderbird.
Don’t use the voice thing —I turned it off or it went away. Had to (re)set the power and turn off button settings, as it is set initially to never turn off, just sleep. Must tape over the camera eye, ha.
Win10 works fine! But I still use IE 11 over Edge.
