The faces we see on TV, in sports, in the movies, are now majority black or nearly so. When did a white person last sing the national anthem at a game?

They are starting to believe themselves the majority and that the cities & the ‘hoods are the real America.

Throughout history, successful integration of vastly different cultures has never been the rule, all the name-calling in the world notwithstanding.

While I try always to welcome the many laudable individual exceptions, there's doubtless wisdom in your rule of thumb.

History is what it is, and perhaps the future can be better, but in a society/world seemingly hell-bent on ratcheting up differences, to forego wariness is to abandon prudence and invite vulnerability.
