Officers were forced to unleash tear-gas on angry crowds as buildings and rubbish bins were set on fire around the Barbes Metro station, which is just around the corner from the Eurostar hub at Gare du Nord.   As fire crews went in to extinguish the blazes, lines of riot police were attacked, and shops were looted.  A policeman at the scene said: “Windows have been smashed and officers attacked.   “Small groups of protestors wearing hoods to hide their identities are causing trouble and then running away.

Well, they certainly could have burnt it in 1870 and 1940-44, but declined to do so. The French themselves burnt a fair bit of it in 1871.

I’ve seen dash cam videos of truckers in France trying to run them down on the A26 autoroute in Calais, so it’s not long now. They’ve been gathering en masse harassing truckers, trying to stop them so they can stow away and get into England. They’ve also been damaging trucks, beating drivers and stealing cargo.

These people have benefited from dozens of massive aid plans over decades giving them nice buildings and top-notch infrastructures paid for by billions and billions of the French taxpayers' money. Even the schools there have special aid programs called ZEP (zone d'éducation prioritaire), to no avail. They always end up trashing the places and converting them into ghettos (think Detroit or Baltimore).
The sames places would have become thriving commercial hubs with Chinese and Vietnamese immigrants.
