He’s only a recent, and potentially politically motivated, convert to the Trump’s key notion that flooding the market with unskilled laborers is unfair to the supply-and-demand market forces on labor; he was a big fan of the Gang of Eight amnesty.
I have to note this, however: in double-checking my facts, I just discovered that he was a lawyer for the pro-life community before he got pulled into Hardee’s almost by accident; and that his turnaround of Hardee’s is quite remarkable. I hadn’t known that.
But his comments regarding immigration are stupefying:
“Immigrants appreciate what America offers. They are not taking jobs from Americans, because there are not sufficient Americans applying for jobs. Maybe they feel they have better options.”
That was in 2013, when the U-6 unemployment rate was about 14%.

I had my doubts about Tillerson and Mnuchin as well until I was told that their past views and past press reports about them don’t matter. When I asked why, I was told it’s because they are completely on a leash held by the President.
I was told he’s not hiring ‘views’, he’s hiring knowledge, talent, and energy.
Puts it in a different perspective.
I was surprised however about Flynn. Thought it very odd that Flynn had to go on and on, almost bragging about his ‘integrity’, his ‘stellar service’, and so on. I suppose he was trying to counteract any media distortion that would tail him as he went searching for a new job or social setting. But clearly he wasn’t as controllable as the President wanted him to be.
Did he mean illegals or immigrants? Big difference.
Immigrants come thru the front door after knocking and ask if they can come in- and they desire to become Americans.
But illegals sneak in under darkness, steal from TaxPayers, whether thru crime or welfare and any money made is sent home. Simply put, they USE us for their own purpose and have no desire to become American.
If I were Trump, I’d tax money transfers to other countries, unless you can prove citizenship.
AND, we should call legal immigrants- immigrants and the others just illegals.
