Six months ago....I would have said that the Senate would not convene to impeach some judge on an episode like this. Today? I think it’s fifty-fifty chance. McCain would be given enough rope to go walk out and try to halt this, but I think half of the GOP Senators are ready to give McCain the rope and let him dangle out there.

Note, it’s the House that would write up the charges, and I think they have more than enough support to do this.

It does require a two-thirds majority of the senate and I doubt if the GOP could find enough votes. But here’s the thing....for those ten-odd Democratic senators running in 2018 in Trump-won states....you really have to question how the heck you’d win the election if you were against convicting the judge involved.

The judge himself? He’s mostly finished because it’ll come up in every future case that he’s not capable of fair decisions.

If they impeached a judge, they may not be successful, but they sure would change the narrative. I don’t expect the Congress to do anything to help Trump, however.
