The ones I know do not use drugs!

I have a 20 year daughter with a brain injury, and we live in the Silicon Valley.

The parents are now in their late 50s, and fairly conservative.

A lot of the parents are both techies, and we’ve wondered if there is something to that. This area has lots of techies marrying each other (I’m one of them).

Most of my friends think there is something going on genetically.

Vaccines may not start it, but also may not help it.

My perspective on the issue which coincides with your observations:

I think a significant portion of the population has become seriously vitamin D3 deficient due to the relatively recent advice (the 1980’s) from the medical community to avoid direct sun. Mothers, and particularly pregnant women, are especially susceptible to that advice.

A maternal D3 deficiency will be passed onto the child and will persist if the child is kept out of direct sunlight. This is relatively new. People used to love the sun, and aggressively seek it, even to the point of wanting to get a good tan. No longer. I would guess that techies, especially, end up not getting the sunlight they need to generate sufficient D3 stores (unless they’re sun seekers also.)

But a D3 deficiency impacts the immune system. Genetically, some people are predisposed to the autism spectrum which I consider to run from ADHD, to dyslexia, to Asperger’s to autism. Then, if you take a person genetically predisposed to the spectrum (look at the siblings, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts for clues), and adopt a lifestyle that results in a vitamin D3 deficiency, the potential is there to develop autism.

Given that vaccines affect the immune system, it’s certainly possible that a significant dosage could trigger the genetic condition that’s been prepped by the D3 deficiency. And that comports with the many parents who swear that their child’s behavior changed dramatically almost immediately following a vaccination.

You might ask why the D3 component. It explains the increase in incidence beginning in the late 1980’s and continuing. Furthermore, I have read of cases where autism symptoms have been reduced significantly by the administration of large doses of D3. Unfortunately, this isn’t true across the board, or it would have become common knowledge by now.

“The ones I know do not use drugs!”

1. You don’t know all of them.
2. Many employed people are “discreet.”
