The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that Margarita Del Pilar Fitzpatrick, a resident alien who registered to vote illegally, can be deported for the act despite her claim that she did so at the direction of a DMV employee.

“””It should be a federal law that non-citizens who register to vote are guilty of a felony and subject to immediate deportation”””
In Florida it is a 3rd degree felony for a non-citizen to register to vote.
I believe most states have similar laws.
We do not need another Federal law when state laws suffice.
If she voted, she’s out. If she never voted, simply change the registration. She might be telling the truth.
I am sorry I was not clear about my meaning. When I indicated that I did not think it was a crime to register a non citizen, I was referring to the DMV worker being guilty of a crime for processing the application. The ineligible individual is solely responsible for their action and clearly should suffer the consequences.
We do. They are using Motor Voter to get them to register in the first place. Needs to be on the form: IF YOU REGISTER TO VOTE AND YOU'RE AN ILLEGAL ALIEN YOU ARE OUT OF HERE!! Besides, FL has VERY stringent ID laws to even get a license. How the hell does a non-citizen even register let alone vote with the ID requirements?
