Oblique aerial view of Isabella Auxiliary dam, looking along Hot Spring Valley toward the southern Sierra Nevada. The Kern Canyon fault extends beneath the dam and along the eastern side of Engineers Point. The locations of trenches 1, 2, and 3 at the Barlow Drive site are also shown. The Main dam is located west (left) of the photograph. (northerly view, taken October 26, 2006).
The Kern River flows from that reservoir right through the center of Bakersfield and then into the Cross Valley canal system and the LA water aqua-ducts.

It got this high in summer of ‘17 as well but It is pretty full for what it protects.
